Introducing Lapitec Iberia, our subsidiary for Spain and Portugal
To mark the importance of the Iberian market, the Italian company is opening a local branch and a dedicated Academy service.
Lapitec is a Made in Italy sintered stone used in architectural projects and for custom-built kitchens that has enjoyed great success since its debut on the Iberian market. Several factors make this material unique, first and foremost its 100% mineral and totally crystalline silica-free formula, mirroring the company’s broader ecological vision to protect the health of the planet and its people. The premium appearance of the slabs, available in large size formats in several ‘full-body’ finishes and colours, is combined with highly resistant technical properties. The result is a surface used for facades as well as for flooring, roofing, swimming pools, and furniture and kitchens.
“The vision of the world of design in Spain is very similar to that in Italy,” explains Ernesto Alarcon, Lapitec country manager for Spain, “so right from the start, the company has paid specific attention to our country, also and above all by participating in numerous trade fairs, events, and organising training days for Spanish and Portuguese marble workers and professionals.”
In 2023, Lapitec’s link with this European market will become even stronger thanks to the inauguration of Lapitec Iberia, with Ernesto Alarcon taking up the role of commercial director at the Valencia-based headquarters, set up to bolster relationships with local customers.
“We are proud of this important step taken by the company,” continues Alarcon. “It brings us even closer to stone processors and all professionals with a service dedicated to them and carried out by Lapitec collaborators already located in the country’s main regions: Madrid, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Andalusia, and Murcia. A logistics warehouse, representative office, and Spanish tax number are all steps designed to facilitate operations on site and to serve our partners even more efficiently and punctually.”
Like its Italian twin, Lapitec Iberia will also carry on a Lapitec Academy project of direct after-sales support as well as the promotion of activation and refresher courses for processors. This project has already started in recent years with over 170 processors already certified by Lapitec in Spain and Portugal, and will be able to make use of a resource specifically dedicated to the two markets.
Alarcon concludes: “The goals? In the coming years we would like to grow, increase sales volumes and at the same time expand our organisational and logistical structure. We would also like to open a brand showroom. It will also be fundamental to create through the Lapitec Iberia division a solid bridge with South America, a geographical area similar in idioms and traditions, where we already have several contacts, but where there is still ample room for growth.”
