Lapitec chooses China for first showroom in the Far East
Lapitec opens a new exhibition and logistics centre in Foshan, in the affluent Guangdong province.
Lapitec is an Italian material renowned for its exceptional qualities in architecture and design, appreciated for its remarkable aesthetic value and outstanding technical performance in terms of durability, sustainability, and hygiene. The company has gained recognition in major projects across the Far East, and now, in order to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market, Lapitec has established its flagship showroom in Foshan, a city known for housing the nation’s largest surface companies.
Spanning approximately 250 square metres, the showroom is designed as a material library, showcasing the versatility of sintered stone and its various applications. Visitors can explore the use of Lapitec for facade cladding, flooring, kitchen countertops, and furnishing elements for interiors, bathrooms, and exteriors. The space also features a wall bookcase displaying all 18 colour variations, the 6 tactile finishes, and the large format of the slabs, measuring over 3400 mm in length.
With the Far East accounting for 10% of Lapitec’s turnover, the region aims to become one of the company’s leading markets within the next three years. Marcello Toncelli, the third generation at the helm of the company, expresses his confidence in the venture, stating, “The Foshan operation is undoubtedly a significant milestone for Lapitec. China’s architecture has reached monumental levels, and this country is undeniably the place to be for a company like ours, offering a unique and natural surface that we have achieved after two decades of research and development. We are confident that we will continue to achieve great success in the Far East.”
