Lapitec expands in the Arab world
With participation in three specialised trade fairs and a growing market, Lapitec sintered stone expands its horizons in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt.
Lapitec sintered stone is a unique material produced in Italy through a supply chain protected by 25 patents. With an elegant appeal that recalls natural stone to the touch and state-of-the-art technical performance, it is a safe, natural and hygienic surface, perfect for kitchens as well as swimming pools, facades and spas, and for flooring, roofing and furnishings.
The inherent characteristics of Lapitec have facilitated its expansion worldwide and today, ten years after its debut, the material is sold in 70 countries through an extensive network of qualified partners. Worthy of particular mention are the nations of the Arab world, a region in which the Italian company has invested significantly in 2022 as part of an eight-year expansion plan that aims to make sintered stone a material of choice for large-scale architecture, building and high-end interior design projects.
Participation in Saudi Build from 14 to 17 November, a key event for the region, is a clear example. Lapitec was in attendance along with its parent company Breton – a global player in the design and manufacture of industrial machinery – joining over 500 companies from 45 countries at the exhibition which showcased new technologies and materials for the building sector. A few days earlier, from 7 to 11 November, Lapitec took part in UNICERA - International Ceramic Bathroom Kitchen Fair, the second most important trade fair in the sector with 80,000 square metres of exhibition space.
Prior to Saudi Build and UNICERA, Lapitec travelled to Egyptian capital Cairo for Le Marché, the leading furniture, material and home accessories exhibition in the MENA region which has a thirty-year history.
“The three events that we recently took part in have reinforced Lapitec’s presence in the Arab countries and optimised the investments that we have made in the region over the past few years,” explains Marcello Toncelli, the third generation to lead the company. “The Arab world has great potential for Made in Italy and obviously for Lapitec, which is positioned at the high end of the market and is correctly perceived both in terms of its aesthetic appeal and its technical and innovation performance. We want to be early movers and our goal is to have a structured presence by 2030 when according to the region’s strategic objectives, such as Saudi Vision 2030, we anticipate that the Arab world will enjoy further economic growth and diversification, which will benefit the building sector and therefore the inclusion of our material.”
